Volunteer
We welcome anyone who wants to help, no special skills are required - just an open mind!
We operate on the motto "Learn by doing"! Whether you're chopping veggies, washing dishes or serving to our community, your contribution makes this possible. Our goal is to create a fun and safe space where people can learn and collaborate.
On this page, we detail what the process looks like if you would like to become a volunteer at the People's Kitchen.

Basic requirements
Availability: Be able to commit to a few hours for your assigned shift. The longest shift lasts about 3 hours.
Adaptability: Be open to various roles and tasks as needed. Whether it's helping at the serving counter, cleaning up, or assisting in meal preparation.
Open Mind: Be willing to chat with and assist the community members who come in for meals. Your warmth and friendliness help create a welcoming atmosphere.

Dumpster diving
about 2 teams.
Since we rely on saved ingredients, two teams are usually needed to go dumpster diving the evening before to ensure we have enough food for the dinner. For specifics about this, please contact us.
NOTE: There are no strict regulations against dumpster diving in Sweden, Consequences only apply if for instance locks are forcefully broken or property is destroyed, See FAQ: Other Inquiries.
